Shatner Still Not In Star Trek

Why wouldn't JJ Abrams have William Shatner in his upcoming Star Trek reboot? Nimoy's back, why not The Shat? He has to be in it right? Well both Shatner and Abrams are still claiming that the man that brought Captain James T. Kirk to life has nothing to do with the project.

In the latest issue of Star Trek Magazine, Shatner says he had some meetings with JJ Abrams, but he still isn’t certain "what those meetings were about." But he did say this (Quote thanks to Trekmovie)

"I have no connection with the film whatsoever. It’s the strangest thing. Even my dear friend Leonard [Nimoy] won’t tell me what it’s about"

Also IGN reported that in a recent press event for Fringe in New York, JJ Abrams addressed 'The Shatner' question:

"No, the only cast member from the original films is Nimoy."

I honeslty believe that Shatner will appear in the film and that they are both keeping the fact a secret, or maybe I'm just hoping this will be the case.

Do you guys think The Shat will be back in JJ Abrams' reboot?
