‘Magneto’ Vs ‘The Invisible Man’ Which Will Goyer Do Next?

After the amazing success of The Dark Knight, screenwriter David Goyer has a few projects to go on with - he's got Unborn, the horror flick he directed which comes out next year - There's the script for The Flash (Let's see how JLA pans out) and then there is the new version of The Invisible Man he is writing for Universal and X-Men Origins: Magneto which he is set to direct. Either The Invisible Man or Magneto will be next - so which one will it be?

MTV's Movies Blog spoke recently with Goyer and here is what he had to say about the two projects: I’m in the process of doing ['Invisible Man'] right now, and I’m working with some conceptual artists in tandem with writing the script. I’m actually working with one of the artists from ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight.’ So it could be ‘Magneto,’ or it could be ‘The Invisible Man’ next.”

“Well, ‘The Invisible Man,’ the Universal film, is a great movie, a Claude Rains film,” Goyer said with admiration. “My take is kind of an extrapolation. It actually deals with a nephew of the first character. It’s got some of the characters from the H.G. Wells book, but it’s kind of a continuation.”

“It involves Scotland Yard getting their hands on the current Invisible Man and basically saying, ‘Wow, you’d be a really good secret agent to send into Imperial Russia right now,’” an enthusiastic Goyer said of the plot. “It starts off from there.”

And of the look of the film, Goyer said “It kind of crosses a lot of genres. It’s very steam punk.”

A steam punk invisible man? Now that's an interesting idea. At least at this stage we will be getting them both so if Magneto comes out first than hopefully The Invisible Man is soon after.
