Hell Yeah! Venom The Movie!!!

There wasn't enough Venom in Spider-Man 3 right? Well how does a Venom movie sound? Yes Hollywood Reporter confirms that Sony are developing a Venom film! What does this mean for Spider-Man 4 which was set for release in 2011? Who cares!

Since The Dark Knight it seems that the villain is getting more and more attention in the movie world and so Sony have said 'Hey we've got Venom right? He's one of the most popular villains in comic book history - Let's make a movie about Venom!' So what do you guys think? I'm pretty certain that Topher Grace will not be back so who should play Venom? Above all else what should the damn movie be about?

Marvin the Martian: The Movie - Oh, Great....

Yep, I know we have all been waiting for this - Warner Bros will be bringing a big screen live-action/computer animated feature film based on Marvin the Martian. Read on for more (if you care of course)

No writer or director is known as yet, but it seems that this will be a Alvin and the Chipmunks style film and I guess they are hoping for Alvin and the Chipmunks style bucks but Marvin the Martian, really? The WB could not come up with a better character than that? Don't get me wrong Marvin is a pretty cool character but I don't think he could hold a whole film on his own. And WB has a truck load of characters at their disposal - Anyway I look forward to it.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Will Feature The Fallen!!!

Transformers fans worldwide (myself included) have been wondering if 'The Fallen' in the title Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen referred to Megatron or actually The Fallen, for non Transformer geeks out there basically he was one of the original 13 Transformers created but then he turned on everybody - and he's on fire too! Cool huh? Anyway so now we have some confirmation for you... are you ready for it? Yes, The Fallen will be in the sequel - check out inside for the details.

MTV scored the news at Comic Con from comic book writer Chris Mowry who will be working on a 5 issue mini entitled Transformers: Destiny for IDW Publishing. The mini would bridge the gap between the first and second film, and here is your confirmation “[We're going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,”

So there you have it - The Fallen! I've got to admit that I am surprised that they would dip into the Transformers mythos as we know most Hollywood films don't like doing that but bring it on, and I will be picking up Transformers: Destiny in December just to get a taste of things to come!

Extended Wolverine Trailer from Comic Con!

I have to admit I wasn't excited about the upcoming Wolverine film, probably because of the lameness of the third X-Men film and as a comic book reader I'm really burnt out on the character BUT this footage taken from Comic Con has changed my tune! Check it out - GAMBIT BABY!

Terminator Salvation Poster From Comic Con

The Terminator Salvation Poster from Comic Con has hit the web. To me it looks like a DVD cover of a mid-90s Terminator knock off or something. Recent news that the film may not be PG-13 and that the "lead writer" was Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight) has this looking on the up and up although it does seem that McG is trying to tie this film to ultra-blockbuster The Dark Knight as much as he can. Maybe he could have taken their example on poster art...

Darren Aronofsky Will Be Taking on RoboCop!

Yep, it's been confirmed - Darren Aronofsky will be directing the Robocop reboot, remake or sequel (what ever it is that is yet to be confirmed) which will be set for a 2010 release. Rumours have been flying around the web about this for quite awhile but MGM have confirmed it.

MGM's Chairman Mary Parent said "Darren is undeniably one of the most talented, original and visceral filmmakers, and David is one of the greatest writers in Hollywood. All of us at MGM couldn't be more excited." Producers Brad Fischer and David Thwaites added "With a filmmaker of Darren Aronofsky's vision and imagination and a writer of David Self's caliber, we are poised to bring to the screen an entertaining and provocative film, which will now be under the creative guidance of two of the best storytellers working in our industry today."

Mmm. I love Darren Aronofsky's films but I never saw him directing something like this, but I hope he does bring a dark edge to the film and it is not just a dumb summer action film. The original films themes are still very relevant today so apart from making "cooler" looking robots this, like most remakes, seems rather pointless.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - New Live Action Film!!!

From the bad news of The Monster Squad being remade to the great news of a new LIVE ACTION movie of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
The news actually comes from the Playmates Toys website who are the holders of the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' license:

"Following the success of the 'TMNT' theatrical release in 2007, Mirage licensing and Imagi studios have begun work on a new live-action TMNT film for 2010. It's the turtles like you've never seen them before! Shellalicious" Very odd place to break the news.

I enjoyed the recent animated TMNT film but I was dissapointed that it was not live action like the first 3 films - so a new one, I'm down for that. Turtle Power!

First Terminator Salvation Teaser Trailer!

The first teaser trailer is online for the upcoming Terminator Salvation, which stars the great Christian Bale as John Connor, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. To be honest I was not excited about the fourth installment of the Terminator franchise, no Arnie mean no good.
Has my thoughts changed after seeing the trailer? Only a little, actually seeing footage of a new Terminator film is pretty cool but there’s not a lot here but of course it's a teaser and I do like the use of the theme music. Anyway check it out inside and let me know your thoughts.

School of Rock 2 is ready to...uh rock

Yes, its official the whole team will be back together for the upcoming School of Rock 2: America Rocks. Mike White has written the script, Jack Black will be back and Richard Linklater will once again take on directing duties. Is this good news? Yes I think so. I enjoyed the first and the fact that we won't be getting some straight to DVD sequel which just borrows the name is excellent news and by the sounds of the premise, if you liked the first you should digg the second.

The film picks up with Dewey Finn leading a group of summer school students on a cross-country field trip that delves into the history of rock 'n' roll and explores the roots of blues, rap, country and more. Sounds promising and with the first being one of Jack Black's better films I will be looking forward to this. As long as they don't change the name to School of Rock: Ready 2 Rock.
