Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Vehicles Caught on Video!
Thanks to the wonders of Youtube check out this awesome video taken during a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen shoot today in Long Beach, CA. The video includes the new vehicles and the Ironhide vehicle and Optimus Prime driving up and down the street! Todd Solondz's Happiness Sequel
Those who enjoyed (I guess enjoyed is the wrong word) Todd Solondz’s Happiness will be happy to learn that the writer-director's next film will be a part-sequel, part-companion piece to his 1998 dark comedy. The project has been incubating for years, with Emma Thompson, Demi Moore and Paul Reubens rumored to be attached Variety reports.
The film revolves around a group of struggling individuals. struggling to find a place for themselves in an unpredictable and volatile world. The narrative is told through a series of intersecting love stories.; the past haunts the present and imperils the future: ghosts circle and loom, trouble and console.
The film will be fully financed and produced by New indie production and finance company Werc Werk Works. With casting currently under way, the film is scheduled to begin principal photography in October in San Juan.
Personally, I still think Todd Solondz’s Happiness is a brilliant film and has been often imitated since its release. Hopefully we can revisit these characters and see where they are now in their lives.
Did you like Happiness? Would you like to see a part-sequel, part-companion piece to the film?

Alex Proyas Isn't Directing Silver Surfer. But Why?
During this years Comic Con, Alex Proyas killed the rumors that he was going to be directing a Silver Surfer film. “Unfortunately that is just a rumor. I don’t know where that came from,” he said. But was it really just a rumor? Alex Proyas has not said that an official offer was ever on the table but he explains why he would not do a Silver Surfer film. “Because it’s a Fox picture,” he told MTV. “And I’m determined never to work with them ever again because of my experience on ‘I,Robot.’”
"Of course, nobody really liked “Fantastic Four 2,” especially the subplot with the Surfer, Proyas argued. “It’s like the origin of Silver Surfer was in that movie, and I’m going, ‘This is such a fucking great story, why throw it away?’” Proyas wondered. “I think they messed it up.”
Proyas was also asked if there was any other comic book characters he would like to bring to the big screen. “You know, there aren’t that many left,” he sighed. “Silver Surfer would have been something I would have loved to have done. He’s one of the last cool ones left, really.”
“But yeah,” he added. “If you have any thoughts, give me a call.”
I totally agree with Alex Proyas about Silver Surfer being wasted in Fantastic Four 2 and I would have loved to see what he would have done with the character. So what do you guys think, Did Fox offer Alex Proyas Silver Surfer? Or is that just reading too much in to it?
Christina Milian in Bring it On 5
What must be a sign of the apocalypse, a fifth entry in the Bring it On franchise will be hitting the DVD shelves (I assume) very soon. Bring it On Cinco (too cool for 5 huh?) will star Christina Milian (Pulse, Be Cool) and Nikki SooHoo (Stick It). Read inside for the synopsis OMG! Director Bille Woodruff (Honey) will be directing the film Moviehole reports, which will play out like this:
Upset when her waitress mother marries a millionaire, Lina has to leave her award-winning cheerleading squad in East L.A. and move to her new stepdad's Malibu mansion. A fish out of water in her affluent new surroundings, Lina takes on the seemingly impossible task of transforming her new school's inept, second-string cheerleading squad, the Sea Lions, into a championship caliber team. Lina also finds a new romance with Evan Whitbourne, a wealthy white Malibu boy, but Evan's bitchy sister Avery, a star cheerleader who views Lina as a dangerous upstart, seems determined to break up Lina and her brother and send Lina packing. But despite a series of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Lina and her scrappy fellow cheerleaders may yet prevail at the upcoming Spirit Championships. And in the process, Lina may learn that she has more in common with her new classmates -- and her new stepsister, Sky -- than she had ever anticipated.
Will Christopher Nolan Do Batman 3?
Everyday it seems that there is a new rumor regarding a third Batman film (Cher as Catwoman? C'mon) and as the film nears $500 million domestically I think it is safe to say that there will be a third film but will Christopher Nolan be back? In a recent article from THR which says that Warners and Legendary are both interested in doing a third in the series, but all involved say it will be up to Christopher Nolan to come to them with a story and a plan.
"There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it," Roven says. "But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on."
If Nolan turns down the idea of a third Batman film I believe Warner Bros. will go ahead with a new director regardless. Also the way Nolan ended The Dark Knight screams third film so it's hard to believe that there was not a loose plan for a third. What do you guys think?

Edgar Wright Updates Scott Pilgrim and Ant-Man
Read inside as the man behind Spaced, Shaun of The Dead and Hot Fuzz gives an update on the two comic book movies he is involved in - Scott Pilgrim and Ant-Man. Edgar Wright recently spoke with Wizard Universe about where Scott Pilgrim was at:
"We’re hopefully going into production later this year. We've been doing a lot of work on it in a conception level and getting into casting and crew and stuff. In the number of times I've been to Toronto, one of the most amazing things about Bryan's artwork is that it all refers to real locations. All of the locations in the book he took, maybe even sometimes there's a chain restaurant, like, a Pizza Pizza in Toronto that's a specific branch that he's taken a photo of. Just last month I took some sort of the crew around, like, the Scott Pilgrim locations and it's an amazing thing to take one of the books and say, "Hey, there it is!" You know, and especially where it's essentially very non-descript locations that Bryan has taken photographic reference for and there and lo and behold is the place!"
"The script that we've written essentially covers all six. If it was at the level of Harry Potter we might be able to talk about doing six films but in this case our film is very much an adaptation of the entire six. It's very much in the spirit of Bryan's books and certainly in terms of the first and second books there are whole sections that are straight from the books but then it slightly takes on its own momentum and kind of pace. Especially as a counter point to how uninvolved we were in the American remake of "Spaced," I've been very keen to involve Bryan in every stage of this so that he feels happy and comfortable with what we've written, and as Bryan, I'm sure, will tell you, there are a couple of bits in the fourth and soon to be fifth book which are lines from our screenplay. I feel quite proud that there's a couple of bits in Scott Pilgrim volume 4 where I'm thinking, "That's my line!""
And what about that Ant-Man film?
"I wrote the first draft of the script which, to be honest, kind of took two years to deliver because I did "Hot Fuzz" in the middle of it. But I did my first draft of it just before the strike last year and I think it's one of my favorite things I've ever written. It was a real blast to write. I know that [Marvel's] very pleased with what we've done and, really, really, the appeal to that for me is the fact that like, Ant Man is considered slightly D-list. The whole raison d'etre of the piece for me and my thing has always been to take something that would seem to be uncool and make it really cool and that's certainly the case with British cops in "Hot Fuzz." To take the most seemingly kind of underwhelming concept and make something really cool out of it—I always liked that premise. As a little kid I had a reprint of "The Man in the Ant Hill," the very first Ant Man kind of story and it's something that always struck me. Most shrinking films are about in somebody in jeopardy and this is something where the shrinker has the power. Rather than it being something that's a terrible thing to happen, it's actually making your character into the most bad ass sort of action hero/spy possible."
Scott Pilgrim is set to star (the very funny) Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim and (the very hot) Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona. And if you haven't read Scott Pilgrim I highly recommend it.

Shatner Still Not In Star Trek
Why wouldn't JJ Abrams have William Shatner in his upcoming Star Trek reboot? Nimoy's back, why not The Shat? He has to be in it right? Well both Shatner and Abrams are still claiming that the man that brought Captain James T. Kirk to life has nothing to do with the project. In the latest issue of Star Trek Magazine, Shatner says he had some meetings with JJ Abrams, but he still isn’t certain "what those meetings were about." But he did say this (Quote thanks to Trekmovie)
"I have no connection with the film whatsoever. It’s the strangest thing. Even my dear friend Leonard [Nimoy] won’t tell me what it’s about"
Also IGN reported that in a recent press event for Fringe in New York, JJ Abrams addressed 'The Shatner' question:
"No, the only cast member from the original films is Nimoy."
I honeslty believe that Shatner will appear in the film and that they are both keeping the fact a secret, or maybe I'm just hoping this will be the case.
Do you guys think The Shat will be back in JJ Abrams' reboot?
The Watchmen Lawsuit Explained
Want to know what this Watchmen lawsuit is really about? The New York Times has a great article on 20th Century Fox’s lawsuit with Warner Bros over the rights to Watchmen. Check out part of it inside. The Fox-Warner tiff turns on matters potentially more nettlesome to the industry at large. Central to Fox’s complaint is the mysterious matter of what is called turnaround.
On its face, turnaround is a contractual mechanism that allows a studio to release its interest in a dormant film project, while recovering costs, plus interest, from any rival that eventually adopts the project. But turnaround is a stacked deck.
The turnaround clauses in a typical contract are also insurance for studio executives who do not want to be humiliated by a competitor who makes a hit out of their castoffs.
That trick turns on a term of art: “changed elements.” A producer of a movie acquired in turnaround who comes up with a new director, or star, or story line, or even a reduction in budget, must give the original studio another shot at making the movie because of changed elements, even if a new backer has entered the picture.
Thus, “Michael Clayton” was put in turnaround by Castle Rock Entertainment (which, like Warner, belongs to Time Warner). When George Clooney became attached to star in it, however, Castle Rock stood on its right to be involved as a producer of what turned out to be an Oscar-nominated film.
